About GSDefense

Georgia is the director of the GSDefense programs. A graduate of McGill University in Psychology, she studies Education at Concordia University, teaches regularly in elementary and high schools, and is an experienced women's crisis councilor. She has been involved in self-defense and the martial arts since 1989, and has taught since 1994. She learned and competed (winning numerous tournaments) in Karate up until the brown belt level before switching to Wing Chun Kung-Fu (attributed in legend to a Shaolin nun and a young girl named Wingchun, and made famous by Bruce Lee), in which she attained instructor rank in 1997. In 2002 she began training in Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu (a ground-fighting system similar to the one made famous by the Gracie family of Brazil), and achieved coach level (blue belt) in 2003, the same year she competed in, and won, many tournaments, including the Canadian Open Grappling Championships (an achievement repeated in 2004). She has appeared in 2 major martial arts books, and over a half-dozen articles in publications like Martial Arts Masters, and Inside Kung-Fu.

Antony teaches the men's and some of the group programs. He has been training alongside Georgia since 1989, is black belt in Karate, an instructor in Wing Chun Kung-Fu, a purple-belt level coach in Jiu-jitsu, has a similar outstanding record in competition, and has appearanced in as many major publications.
